Only sparkling wine made in the Champagne region of France, under strict appellation rules and by the traditional method of second fermentation in the bottle (méthode champenoise), may be called Champagne. Every Champagne is a sparkling wine, but not every sparkling wine is Champagne. Champagne Tsarine wines are true French Champagnes.
The official Hungarian representative of Champagne Tsarine is Energy4U Kft. The Champagnes can be ordered online from the champagneforyou.hu shop and bought and tasted in person at the Belle Époque Bar & Boutique in Kecskemét.
They indicate the sugar content (dosage): brut nature / zero dosage 0–3 g/l, extra brut 0–6 g/l, brut up to 12 g/l (dry), extra dry 12–17 g/l, sec 17–32 g/l, demi-sec (medium-sweet) 32–50 g/l, doux over 50 g/l (sweet).
The prestige cuvée Tzarina, in the house's iconic bottle, is the most festive choice; the limited Précision N°15 and the 30th-anniversary Zéro Dosage Rosé in a gift box are special for collectors too. Brut and Extra Brut come in gift boxes, and Précision is available as a magnum in a gift box.
Serve Champagne at 8–10 °C, vintage and mature Champagnes at 10–12 °C. An ice bucket with ice and water chills a bottle in 20–30 minutes. A tulip-shaped or white-wine glass shows the aromas better than a narrow flute; open the bottle quietly, holding it at an angle.
